This product is great! It is ideal for people who use their iPad in bed or on the couch, and it's ideal for both reading and watching movies. It is about a foot square and the padding is really soft. It also serves as a safety case for your device when it is not in use. The adjustable heights are what really set it apart. Being able to angle it that extra half or whole inch really makes a difference in the iPad user experience. Ever since I got my iPad 2 I seldom let it leave my side. When I am watching TV I use it to browse the TV Guide, check out what I am watching on the Internet Movie Database, shop on Amazon, etc. One thing that I discovered pretty quickly was that my regular leather case just wasn't going to work for me. It had to be set on a flat, solid surface or else it would fall over and I needed to have more choices of angles than just one. I received a Targus Lap Lounge and really liked it, however, it was hard to type on since it moved when I touched it. Also, I have to take it out of my travel case in order to put it on the Lap Lounge. Many people buy an iPad partly because it looks to sharp. Putting my sleek, black iPad on the beige, plastic Targus was kind of like wearing an old pair of sneakers with a tux. When I received my Prop 'n Go I was hoping for something better and better was what I got.
This new design is covered with a suede-like felt over a foam core. It is gives me a solid base to type on and allows me to use it while it is still in it's case. In addition I can use the same stand for my Kindle, my tablet computer, etc. I decided to make a short video review that compares the two products feature for feature. After I posted the video I realized that during one part I confused my iPad for my Kindle. I guess that it is a case of too many gadgets and not enough mind. I absolutely love the Prop 'n Go Lite Hybrid Lap Stand. It is perfect for sitting in my recliner and reading with my Kindle 2. I went through leaning my Kindle against a pillow on my lap for years, and wishing I had a specially shaped wedge cushion to hold it. Then I discovered that others had had the same idea. I tried out the "Prop 'n Go," and the Ipevo MEPX-04IP IPEVO Cushi Pillow Stand for iPad and iPad 2 - Blue Denim and the Adjustable Laptop Table with Cooling Fans Portable Laptop Laidback Computer Desk Bed Tray Book Stand Multifuctional & Ergonomics design dual layer tabletop up to 17 3/4". Of all three, I think the Prop 'n Go is, by far, the best.
I read for hours at a time, and I love the comfort of the Prop 'n Go, and the simplicity and ease of adjusting the reading angle to the perfect position, the soft cushion for you lap, and the smaller size to make it easier to carry, store, or simply sit out of the way on an end table when not in use. Also, I have the old K2 that requires a push on the side bars to advance the page. So I find the open space created by the angle of the prop very handy. I can actually rest my hand on the side of the Prop 'n Go, with my fingers curled behind the Kindle in the open space created by the prop, and then I can push the K2 page advance bar with my thumb. I don't really understand the need for the non-slip strips. I think they don't really come into play when your Kindle is propped up at an angle, as the small bar at the bottom holds the Kindle in place. However, I have not had any issues with them as other reviewers have mentioned, so I assume the problem has been fixed. Also, I keep my Kindle in a soft padded case with a front cover that zips open and folds backs behind the Kindle. There is enough room between the angle, and the bar at the bottom of the Prop 'no Go to accommodate my Kindle while in its case. So I don't have to remove the protective case from my Kindle to read. The angled lap cushion on the Prop 'n Go also raises the Kindle screen to a more comfortable level for viewing. I don't have to bend my neck as much as when my Kindle was simply propped against a pillow in my lap. If you have a Kindle Touch, I think this would be even more of a consideration, as there's no keyboard at the bottom to raise the screen a little higher.
When I tried the Ipevo Cushi Pillow, there was only one angle. It worked okay, and was certainly better than a pillow in my lap, but for me it was not as handy as the Prop 'n Go, as I missed the angle adjustment feature. Also it was difficult to curl my hand around the back of my Kindle, as there's no open space there. In its favor is the fact that it's all fabric and cushion--there's nothing to break if you fall asleep while reading, and the cushion is removable, allowing you to wash the covering fabric.
The Adjustable Laptop Table was nice too--but a lot more hassle to adjust, and bigger and heavier to carry around, and as with the Cushi Pillow, there's no room to curl my hand around my Kindle. Also, unless your recliner chair arms are really wide apart, the legs of the table may not fit between the chair arms to rest on the seat cushion, although it would work well on a sofa. Also, I think it might be nice in the summer time, when it feels too hot to have even a small cushion on your lap. I think this product is really more intended for laptops, although it will work with iPads and Kindles.
So after having tried all three, I still came back to the Prop 'n Go as the absolute, hands-down, best product for reading my Kindle. I really, really love it, and would highly recommend it to anyone with a Kindle. - Bookfantastic

I really lucked out spotting this prop, because I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't have to go through the learning process of finding a vinyl pillow too hot, or props that didn't have enough angles. First time out, I ended up with a cool, comfortable prop which will hold tablets, books, and other stuff, as long as I can get it away from my husband. He's getting his own for Christmas! With neck fusion surgeries that have left me with virtually no movement in the neck and extremely limited movement of both arms, I was losing the ability to use my small electronic equipment. Prop 'n Go allows me to use my iPad hands-free, and it can be easily adjusted to the perfect viewing angle, which makes it great for watching videos wherever you wish. It's reasonably small but sturdy and appears to be well-built. I've only used it for about a week and haven't experienced any of the problems that some have reported with the grip strips (that hold the iPad in place) peeling off. A very comfortable, not too thick, but nicely padded lap desk that appears to be fairly well constructed. I am using this with the new iPad Retina Display and the Kindle Fire Hd 7". I'm in love with the Prop 'n Go Slim. It makes using my iPad so comfortable in any position. I have a couple of other stands, but this is by far the best. I have the black Prop n' Go slim--I didn't realize it also comes in blue! It is incredibly useful. I was having a hard time finding something small and comfortable for an 11.6 inch laptop. When I stumbled on this, I knew it would work from the photos. As a frequent user of my MacBook Air (13 inch) and my iPad, and as an avid reader of books as well, I found that the Prop 'n Go Slim perfectly met all of my needs.
Of course, as a student, I have to do homework, study, and read several hours per day, and this also involves a lot of locations; for example, I work and read at my desk, in the library, in a cafe, on my couch, and even in bed. I found my shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands getting sore from holding up my MacBook Air, iPad, and heavy books for the hours that I needed to use them for. The Prop n' Go Slim has really helped a lot!
It has been perfect for all three of my needs, and has really been versatile beyond that. For example, I use an iPad, and the Prop n' Go Slim has come in VERY handy. When I first got my iPad, the stand/cover that I bought with it didn't really provide adequate support. It wasn't supportive enough and did not have as much angle versatility as the Prop n' Go Slim does. With the Prop n' Go Slim, there are a lot more angles that the iPad can be propped up on, and the Prop n' Go Slim really allows for more pressure when you're using the iPad. I used to have to hold or steady the iPad with one hand while I used the other on the iPad, and the Prop n' Go Slim has eliminated my hand having to hold it in place! The Prop n' Go Slim has been really reliable and has made using the iPad a lot more comfortable to use! I really recommend this product for iPad users!
The Prop n' Go Slim has also made sitting and reading a textbook for hours and hours a lot easier. Finding a comfortable way to hold a 5lb textbook isn't very easy! The Prop n' Go Slim really helped--whether I was sitting at my desk, table, on my couch, or in bed, I could prop my textbook on the Prop n' Go Slim and it was just SO much more comfortable; basically all I had to do was turn the pages. Really nice.
I also use my Prop n' Go Slim to prop my MacBook Air up on. This has been especially helpful on my couch or in bed--my MacBook can heat up and get pretty hot after I've used it for awhile, so not only does the Prop n' Go Slim help keep my MacBook from burning my stomach and legs, but it also helps to keep it at the perfect angle so my wrists don't start hurting from typing or using the mousepad.

When my husband bought me a Ipad, I was so excited! After using it for a few days, we knew it needed some kind of prop. We would try putting a pillow under the Ipad but it would slip out. We got this Prop 'n go slim as a gift. One of my favorite things about this product, it has grip strips that hold the Ipad in place!! SO SMART!!! I love it! I use it in the kitchen to prop my Ipad, for all my recipes. In bed it's great for when you need to type an email. Using just your thumbs is hard to type more than 20 words. I bought a competing product before this to replace the belkin viewlounge i had lost. i gave this new product(lap pro) a evening or so and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Tried this one as the bigger prop n go's just scared me off with their bulkiness and this so far really does address most of what i was looking for. first, it's much smaller on the padding underneath and that padding is a memory foam so it easily molds to your legs when using it like that. adjusting the angles is much easier then the lap pro and much, much more stable. I found the lap pro to not be very functional on the lap, it was much better served when propping on a couch or bed but with this prop n go slim, i find it does all the comfortable positions much easier then anything i've used before. the side grips are sort of pointless, I don't think they do much but with as big as it is, slipping of the stand is not really a concern. It's going to work great when watching the ipad in bed and while it is big as stands go, it does do what I want it to do to much more of a degree then other products i've used in the past. I'm not taking this thing on the go to starbucks or anything but for lounging/sleeping scenarios at home, I am really happy with this purchase and feel it's going to serve my needs much better then the lap pro i tried before it and the belkin viewlounge it was replacing. I bought a prop'n go (w/built in back pack) several months ago. I sort of 'collect' iPad cases and paraphernalia. Saw this online and thought it was novel and different, and most of all, it sounded very practical and useful.
Well, after I got it, I never really used it. I opened it, looked at it, and tried it a couple times, then it lay in my 'extra stuff' room several months and months.
Well, I am getting older, and have been getting alot of bad joint stiffness, especially in my left shoulder.
I have a really bad habit of laying in bed at night and reading the news, checking e-mail, doing research, etc. on my iPad for hours and hours. Well, in the last week or so, I had been having a terrible soreness in my left shoulder. Could not raise my arm over my head without pain. coincidentally, I happened to think about it and realized that this was the same arm I had been propping up my iPad with, while using my pointer finger on my right hand.
It felt like I had a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. It finally dawned on me that this was most probably due to holding my arm in a fixed, stiff position for hours on end.
Once I realized that, I remembered, wait a minute! I have that title prop'n go thing....I'll go get that and use it.
What a lifesaver it has been. Now my shoulder, which was getting worse and worse, can start to heal as I am no longer damaging it with overuse and flexed stiffness. It really was starting to hurt
This is such a great product - who knew it could have major health benefits, as well as being so wonderfully functional.
I will always grateful for the absolutely life saving prop'n go. This is a great product for older people whose joints get stiff with a lot of manual propping. I like the prop'n go better than the cases with flaps that supposedly prop.
The PnG is much, much more durable and solid, and it has all those many, many angles.

This was just what I was looking for as I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand. It is literally a weight off my hand and mind. I travel with it everywhere: table, bedroom, trips. Smiley

I already gave the Prop n Go a five star review because I LOVE it as a stand for my ipad or Kindle. I have a case that goes around my ipad that makes it into an instant stand so I wasn't sure I really needed one but at Christmas, Santa thought that I did. And I LOVE it. It holds a tablet perfectly so you can lay on the couch, stretch your legs out straight (rather than propping your tablet up on your knees) and truly sit comfortably. And the pocket also hold the tablet protectively when you travel (this, I recently found out, is wonderful for a long car ride out of comfort alone when you want to read your tablet...while someone else is driving of course!)
So imagine my surprise when I recently, after using this nearly every day for weeks, determined I was actually given the one with a backpack attachment.
Here's the thing...this comes with no instructions and no little card or piece of paper with any overview so, because I didn't order it for myself, I wasn't aware there was a hidden surprise inside. I opened that pocket many many many times and never knew that if I reached around the top part of the pocket and pulled down, straps were hidden inside. The first time my ipad nudged them, I began unrolling it and thought it was some kind or a storage bag but then much to my delight determined I had the integrated backpack...even better for travel! Now if I get out of the car at a reststop I can run in and my computer is tucked in the pocket but even better, if I travel to the beach I have my Kindle in my carry pouch but am hands free so I can carry my other goods. But even if you leave this on the beach towel and go for a dip in the water, whereas someone might nab your beach bag or certainly your tablet if left out, This simply looks like a travel pillow. Your tablet is hidden inside which I feel keeps it safer.
Because you can change the angle at which your tablet rests on this, No matter how you are propped up for reading, it makes it comfortable.

I bought this product for use mainly with my Ipad but have found it works great for my Kindle reading in bed too. So far tho' I am unhappy with the non-slip strips. They have curled up badly and leave a sticky residue to deal with. The glue on rubber strips make the strips curl up, so that you have to push them back in place. This does not effect in any way how it works, but can get aggravating. Vender notified me about the problem and they are working to fix the cause. It has been a month and I haven't heard anything. They are to send repair and new strips, none yet. After repairing myself, works as advertised, just great. 5 stars for me. Wizee

I absolutely love the Prop 'n Go Lite Hybrid Lap Stand. It is perfect for sitting in my recliner and reading with my Kindle 2. I went through leaning my Kindle against a pillow on my lap for years, and wishing I had a specially shaped wedge cushion to hold it. Then I discovered that others had had the same idea. I tried out the "Prop 'n Go," and the Ipevo MEPX-04IP IPEVO Cushi Pillow Stand for iPad and iPad 2 - Blue Denim and the Adjustable Laptop Table with Cooling Fans Portable Laptop Laidback Computer Desk Bed Tray Book Stand Multifuctional & Ergonomics design dual layer tabletop up to 17 3/4". Of all three, I think the Prop 'n Go is, by far, the best.
I read for hours at a time, and I love the comfort of the Prop 'n Go, and the simplicity and ease of adjusting the reading angle to the perfect position, the soft cushion for you lap, and the smaller size to make it easier to carry, store, or simply sit out of the way on an end table when not in use. Also, I have the old K2 that requires a push on the side bars to advance the page. So I find the open space created by the angle of the prop very handy. I can actually rest my hand on the side of the Prop 'n Go, with my fingers curled behind the Kindle in the open space created by the prop, and then I can push the K2 page advance bar with my thumb. I don't really understand the need for the non-slip strips. I think they don't really come into play when your Kindle is propped up at an angle, as the small bar at the bottom holds the Kindle in place. However, I have not had any issues with them as other reviewers have mentioned, so I assume the problem has been fixed. Also, I keep my Kindle in a soft padded case with a front cover that zips open and folds backs behind the Kindle. There is enough room between the angle, and the bar at the bottom of the Prop 'no Go to accomodate my Kindle while in its case. So I don't have to remove the protective case from my Kindle to read. The angled lap cushion on the Prop 'n Go also raises the Kindle screen to a more comfortable level for viewing. I don't have to bend my neck as much as when my Kindle was simply propped against a pillow in my lap. If you have a Kindle Touch, I think this would be even more of a consideration, as there's no keyboard at the bottom to raise the screen a little higher.
When I tried the Ipevo Cushi Pillow, there was only one angle. It worked okay, and was certainly better than a pillow in my lap, but for me it was not as handy as the Prop 'n Go, as I missed the angle adjustment feature. Also it was difficult to curl my hand around the back of my Kindle, as there's no open space there. In its favor is the fact that it's all fabric and cushion--there's nothing to break if you fall asleep while reading, and the cushion is removable, allowing you to wash the covering fabric.
The Adjustable Laptop Table was nice too--but a lot more hassle to adjust, and bigger and heavier to carry around, and as with the Cushi Pillow, there's no room to curl my hand around my Kindle. Also, unless your recliner chair arms are really wide apart, the legs of the table may not fit between the chair arms to rest on the seat cushion, although it would work well on a sofa. Also, I think it might be nice in the summer time, when it feels too hot to have even a small cushion on your lap. I think this product is really more intended for laptops, although it will work with IPads and Kindles.
So after having tried all three, I still came back to the Prop 'n Go as the absolute, hands-down, best product for reading my Kindle. I really, really love it, and would highly recommend it to anyone with a Kindle. Bookfanatic

I bought this primarily to read my Nook in bed and just love it. It has a "lip" that keeps the Nook from slipping and you can adjust it to any angle you need. I haven't found any other book holder that does all of this. Highly recommend this. S. Casey

Wonderful stand for ipad, however I only recommend when you are sitting or over a desk. If you intend to use it laying in bed, then I would recommend the Targus Lap Lounge. However, for anything else I prefer this stand, its so simple, light and works very well for me. Got this over the holidays, and soon after I began using it the rubber tape that keeps the reader from shifting started to curl up, as other reviewers have stated. As soon as it started to peel, the sticky side began to attract animal hair and lint, making the top of the reader a gross mess. Once I find a decent glue I'll fix it myself, but I find this flaw disappointing. It's been kept in a room-temperature environment so it's not the fault of heat melting the adhesive. This works for what it is, and is a good price, but they really should reevaluate the rubber tape. EDIT: As soon as I made this review the company contacted me and shipped replacement rubber strips. I bought this and have been pleased with it overall. The only thing that bothered me were the strips that were peeling off. It didn't bother me enough to return it because I liked the pad. Well, I find it amazing that the seller sent me new strips with a note saying that this will stick better. The thing is, I didn't even contact the seller about it. I received this article a week, or so, ago. I did a search for "iPad 2 lapdesks" which narrows down your search for just "lapdesks"which includes laptop computers, tablets, etc to use in a chair or in bed. I was surprised to find only a few that were aimed at the iPad market.
My pick of the Prop 'n Go was made on it being applicable to the iPad in size and weight and adjustibility (although it can be used for other tablets, small laptops, etc.).
The bottom of the unit is soft, and the top has an articulated plastic shelf which folds at various angles to hold your iPad at the angle you choose. I find myself using it mainly on my recliner with ottoman. My lap gets a little bit warm after a while, but, this is negated by lifting the device up for a few seconds.
It seems durable. It is not overly heavy. And, most of all-it holds my iPad 2 securely and comfortably. Unlike some of the much larger and complex laptop computer desks, you can not easily use a Bluetooth keyboard with this gadget. This is not a negative in my mind because the smaller size and weight far outweigh the need for a separate keypad while lounging.

My Kindle Touch (with case) fits well, and stays put and being able to easily adjust the angle of the Touch while reading is great. Because of some vision issues, I can't read or see close details unless the angle is just right. I could never get the angle of my iPad correct using a pillow, so I went online and Googled until I found the Prop It Up by Padded Spaces and ordered one. The feature that makes this different from any other "pillow" device I found was that it allows the user to adjust the angle of the iPad (or eReader or netbook or real book, etc.) to 10 different positions. This feels like a hand made product, not mass produced. If it was mass produced, they could bring the price down and raise the quality a little, but aside from that, WOW! This thing is amazing. Absolutly perfect for bed, laying on your side in bed watching a movie, resting it on your stomach, etc. Then when you start falling asleep at night, you can slip the iPad in the pocket and toss it on the floor by your bed. There is enough padding so that if you forgot it was on the floor and stepped on it in the morning getting out of bed, it wouldn't harm your device. I use Prop It Up everyday in so many places. Recently I used it to prop up my laptop when I was doing laundry. It's great to use with books because the angle adjusts so many different ways. The iPad may indeed be svelte, but it can be a bear to hold while in bed or laid back on the sofa. This item resolves such problems, pronto. Truly a joy to use, and super comfy. It's funny, I spent a long time researching CASES for my new iPad2--i wanted one that would have good angle adjustments and easy to use while i was sitting on my couch (the most frequent place that i use my iPad). Actually I could have forgone all of the case research if i had just bought the Prop 'n Go first! After buying three different cases (and returning two of them) I stumbled upon this product and decided to give it a go--it is PERFECT. Props my iPad up nicely while i am on my couch, easy chair, or in bed, AND has all the angle adjustments so i can perfect my viewing angle. I love the little zippered storage space--I keep my stylus and screen cleaning supplies in there but it also fits the actual iPad itself. It will be the perfect place to store the iPad while traveling. Yes, you still need a case to protect your iPad, but this is what I really needed in order to comfortably spend way too much time with my little iPad 2! I'm a couch potato and live using my iPad in bed. Prop 'n Go is the perfect iPad stand for any use around the house.
I love to lay around all day in bed and I holding my tablet or trying to lean it against pillows was lame. My hands and arms got super tired. This iPad stand let's me ajust it to the perfect angle for typing emails, growing the who or playing my favorite game (Angry Birds).
What I didn't count on was being able to also use my MacBook. That is a hot laptop! Prop 'n Go keeps my lap cool. So great.

I'll begin by saying I read all previous reviews before purchasing a product or passing on it. If a product has a reasonable number of reviews of varying comments, that usually determines whether I buy or not. I cannot imagine why anyone would buy any other item for the use this one was designed for. It's simply perfect in every way. It is of excellent quality with very nice material used for the pillow part of the product. I purchased the item that includes a zipper pocket for carrying my Ipad which increased the price by ten dollars, but is worth every penny extra. My Ipad is nestled betweem more padding than anything else I've seen. The plastic section of the desk is simple and effective as it should be. Nothing fancy is needed. Just sturdy, adjustable slots to hold the Ipad at enough angles to match any position I'm laying in. From reading previous reviews and going to the manufacture's website I found enough information to know this product was a work in progress that went through a few previous incarnations to arrive at what it is currently. This struck me as a very good thing. Previous customers who had complaints were promptly satisfied and flaws were re-designed to improve the product rather than just leaving something less than excellent out there for the buying public. I got this as a gift right at Christmas. I thought it may be handy to have to prop up my kindle and iPad but I have an iPad cover that does that too so I put off playing with it. This is GENIUS. I never ever considered it at all awkward to hold my kindle or iPad in my lap. But in comparison to propping it up on my lap on this it's like the difference in comfort from getting out of a smart car for 8 hours into a private jet. Not that I'll actually have personally ever compared the two but I'm guessing on that one.
Here's why. The stand you rest your kindle or iPad on adjusts the angle so it's perfectly propped comfortably. Normally to do that one would have to prop their knees up or hold the kindle or iPad in the other hand. Not comfortable if you wish to type. Way more comfortable to stretch out my legs and cross my legs... Whatever I wish to do...
If you travel this is lovely too. No awkward lap reading or kindle holding or iPad typing. I sat in a chair at the airport watching a movie and eating. Both hands free.
I actually didn't know it had a storage pocket. It was quite the surprise find. Protected my kindle as its heavily padded. Plus it also hides it if I have it in the car. And can hide anything else like cash. Honestly I could see this beachside if I wanted to go cool off but also bring my kindle to read. Nobody is gonna snatch an unattended lap desk in a beach canopy but they sure would nab a kindle or beach bag. So I never felt comfortable cooling off in the ocean on vacation. Good hidden stash pocket.
I know it seems like a regular lap desk. I know it seems like it wouldn't make that much difference.
It actually makes so much difference I always use it now even if I'm in a cafe. It's propped up better than my regular cover that has a stand can do.
The only thing I would change is I don't know if I overlooked it when I ditched the box or if it really didn't have an instruction paper. It could be very small. I know it seems obvious but I didn't find the pocket for awhile and at first I wasn't sure which way I was supposed to rest the iPad. Then I saw the rim that holds it at the base. That's a little thing. Nothing major. But worth noting.
Very good for playing games on a device too. Hands free and comfortable.

I looked for months for a stand that could hold my iPad up to use at a desk but I also wanted something that would work while I'm laying in bed or sitting on the couch. This was the only thing I could find. Personally I think $50 is a bit expensive, but I guess most stands are. Anyways it is worth it. There is really nothing else out there this versatile, you could use it for any phone, tablet, ereader, and maybe even a book. I'm very pleased with it's functionality, and also how many different angles there are. Jen

This is an AWESOME stand. Totally adjustable from flat to upright. I find that I'm using several different settings depending on where and how I'm sitting. It was totally easy to take out and throw the iPad on. No assembly or anything. And the iPad doesn't have to attach to it in anyway so u can just lift it off whenever you want. Yet it's totally secure and sturdy on there. This is the only stand I've tried but no reason to look elsewhere. Awesome product! Nathan B. Bowles

The review for the product is simple. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife. It arrived with the same adhesive problems that others had described, but otherwise it was a terrific product that my wife loved.
This is where the review changes - I did not have to write the company to tell them about the adhesive issue. Ben Palmer, the CEO of Padded Spaces, wrote to me on Dec 29th. Got that? The CEO wrote me to tell me that the issue was known, being actively corrected and that they would send me the adhesive as soon as it was worked out. I responded and thanked him for the email, not entirely expecting to hear anything and planning on sending a request for an update in a few weeks. It was never required. They sent the new strips within a week or two. I was pleasantly surprised.
Story doesn't end there. I have a 2-year-old daughter who likes to remove the plastic stand from the pillow. No more than a week after I got the adhesive strips, she removed the stand and hid it somewhere that I still haven't found. I suspect that it got thrown into the trash during her trash-can-phase. I wrote to the company, through their web site, to inquire if I could order the stand as a part or if it was only available as a single unit. Within a few hours, I got a response from the company (Cathy) telling me they were sending the part at no charge.
This is a level of customer service that I had thought long extinct and am thankful that an old-school company, like Padded Spaces still exists. M. Holmes

This is great stand. I use it while iPad is wired to HDMI on the TV to show pictures, etc. The viewers' eyes stay on the TV and not me or the iPad (which they can't see because of the angle). I use it for many other things, as well. Recommend highly for versatility and quality. John GM Ziel

I received this product last week and was pleasantly surprised. I have a lot of neck pain so I needed a stand that provided the right amount of height and tilt. This is perfect. I can sit in the recliner for hours using my I Pad without being uncomfortable or in pain. The quality is good and the size perfect. It holds my I Pad with the case on with no sliding. It can make me feel hot after a while. A more breathable fabric would be better. But I can live with that. JenLyn

I use another amazon product for viewing my ipad on a table top. This one is bulkier. I bought it to watch the ipad in bed but it's difficult to use for this purpose. The reason is that the ipad can only be at an angle less than 90 degrees or it falls forward. My goal was to lie in bed and face the ipad but since the angle is limited, I need to prop up on three or four pillows for the angles to be optimal.
The product is very well made and might be perfect for other uses--but not for the bed, unless you don't mind propping up on a bunch of pillows. A. Rosenbach

I purchased an iPad about a month ago and instantly fell in love with it! I found myself spending lots of time with it on my lap propped on a throw pillow trying to play games and read books and it was just awkward so I decided I needed some sort of stand. I did very thorough research for an iPad stand before making a purchase. (It seems many people have purchased several different stands because they end up being poor quality, not what they thought it was and or it breaks. I literally read hundreds of reviews about dozens of stands and decided on this one because of the great reviews. It may seem pricey but it is well made and works perfectly. I love that I can prop my iPad horizontally or vertically. The iPad does not lock into place (I don't jump up from sitting position without holding in anyway) but after reading reviews for ones that did, I determined that those seem poorly made and the locking mechanisms were breaking. Since it doesn't have clips it is more versatile for other e-readers. My son has a kindle and I borrow that to take advantage of Prime's free monthly books.
If you are looking for a way to prop your iPad (or kindle/nook/etc) on your lap while being a couch potato or lounging in bed this is perfect for that! You can adjust to the perfect angle and relax without getting cramps in your hands while holding it! (My husband is jealous and wants one too so I will be ordering a second one soon!) I think it is awesome!! I use it constantly as a lap desk. Although I don't travel a lot, when I do, I feel comfortable knowing that my IPad 2 is very well protected!! Not to mention the ease of use on the go. I have a small tote that I carry it in when I do take it somewhere. I mostly use it at home, but this combination makes me feel secure in knowing that the IPad is protected and equally easy to use.
I ordered the cover below as well, which I was very pleased with because it is firm enough to protect, but is not that flimsy gel type material. It has a slick feel, but also a good grip feel about it. April Freeman Hood

I find my new iPad uncomfortable to hold and was looking for a flexible stand to use on a table, on my lap and when propped up in bed (sad, I know). After extensive searching on the Internet I found the Prop'n Go in the USA. Of all the stands I found, this was the only one that appealed to me. I looked on Amazon UK and to my surprise, there it was. Thank you Prop'n Go for setting up shop in the UK. As I write this review, I am sitting with my iPad on my lap. It is brilliant. I've used it on my lap and in bed so far and it does exactly what I want. I can see me using my iPad four times more than usual as it is now so convenient to use. As there has been no UK review so far, the least I can do is show my appreciation to Prop'n Go by sharing my thoughts. It arrived quickly and first impressions are of great build quality, clever design and optimal size. My only concern when ordering without seeing one had been if the base was too large. It is not. It rests perfectly on my lap, spanning my legs. the flexible tilt allows perfect viewing. The cushion base has a nice grip to it. In short, it is just what I wanted. There are several models shown on the USA web site. The one sold in the UK is the rightmost but one. I.e. it comes with zipped inner compartment to store your iPad, if you wish, but no carrying straps. I would not use those anyway. I thoroughly recommend this product. The price conversion v.s the USA dollar is also reasonable, given our tax and free shipping. Vol-au-vent

Have been using the prop n' go now for a couple of weeks and I bought it mainly for using in bed as I found my arms getting sore when trying to read a book for a long period. It works well enough, although I wish that it could be angled forward a bit more - I use it resting on my chest whilst lying down. Overall, it's the best solution I've found so far... My wife and I are both very heavy users of iPads and laptops. We were seeking a light weight and portable option to use our devices while sitting, laying down or while travelling. After much searching we came across this amazingly clever Prop N GO product. It's is an ingenious design from a company called Padded Spaces, that is light weight, very adjustable and constructed extremely well. It even has a pocket design to store our iPads right inside the pad. It also has a version with a built in carrying pack and a smaller version for use on the road. Even the kids like to use it in the car when we travel.
